The Four Categories of Literature
Qianshi 黔史 "History of Guizhou is a history of the province of Guizhou written by the Qing period 清 (1644-1911) scholar You Faxian 猶法賢 (jinshi degree 1762) who hailed from the province of Guizhou. The 4 juan "scrolls" long book is written in an annalistic style and reports the history of that southwestern region from the year 280 BCE, when it was first conquered by the troops of Qin 秦, down to the Jiaqing reign 嘉慶 (1796-1820). The primary sources were the official dynastic histories, lists of officials, private chronicles and inofficial histories. There is a preface written by Chen Ju 陳榘 who had the book printed in 1888.
