Wanyou wenku 萬有文庫 "Literary Treasury of Ten Thousand Books"

The Wanyou wenku 萬有文庫 is a collectaneum published in 1929 by the Commercial Press 商務印書館. It includes 1,710 titles in 4,000 physical volumes. The project was begun a year before by Wang Yunwu 王雲五, and the volumes were published in several steps. The first series (ji 集) included 1,010 texts, the second 700. The aim of the project was to make important traditional texts available to a wide public, with the most modern and cheap printing method. The price was targeted at no more than 400 Yuan, which was quite afforable for average urban people.
