Peng Yang 彭羕, courtesy name Yongnian 永年, was a military commander of the state of Shu-Han 蜀漢 (221-263), one of the Three Empires 三國 (220~280 CE).
He hailed from Guanghan 廣漢 and served Liu Zhang 劉璋 (d. 219) as a xxx 書佐/書仕. Incriminated with the charge of insolence, he was sentenced to penal servitude (tu 徒). When Liu Bei 劉備 (161-222) secured the territory Sichuan (Shu), Peng offered his services, was recommended by Pang Tong 龐統 (179-214) and Fa Zheng 法正 (176-220), and was made xxx 治中從事. Later on he was made governor (taishou 太守) of the commandery of Jiangyang 江陽 which was de facto a demotion caused by the envy of chief minister Zhuge Liang 諸葛亮 (181-234), who rated Peng as too proud and arrogant.
In a communication with Ma Chao 馬超 (d. 222 CE), the two touched the topic of rebellion, which was interpreted as the beginning of a plot. Peng was accused and sentenced to death. He died at the age of 37 sui.
