Jiaying pingkou jilüe 嘉應平寇紀略

Jiaying pingkou jilüe 嘉應平寇紀略 "The suppression of the bandits of Jiaying" is a short account on a military operation in Meizhou 梅州, Guangdong, against local insurgents written by the Qing-period 清 (1644-1911) scholar Xie Guozhen 謝國珍.

The short books describes the activities of the Taiping rebels 太平 after their capital Tianjing 天京 (Nanjing 南京, Jiangsu) had been recaputured by the Qing. Under the lead of Li Shixian 李世賢 and Wang Haiyang 汪海洋, remaining troops withdrew to the regions of Fujian and Guangdong, where they continued to resist the Qing dynasty. In late 1865, they captured the town of Jiaying, where they established a new provisory government.

Based on secondary sources like Yuedong jiaofei jilüe 粵東剿匪紀略, Modun yutan 摩盾余談, Ping Zhe jilüe 平浙紀略, or Wuzhong pingkou ji 吳中平寇記, the author describes how the rebels entrenched themselves in Jiaying and how the Qing troops overcame their resistance.

The book was printed in 1879, and in part of the series Guangdong diqu Taiping tianguo shiji diaocha he ziliao huibian 廣東地區太平天國史跡調查和資料彙編.
