The Four Categories of Literature
Minhai jilüe 閩海紀略 "Military history of the naval campaigns of Fujian" is a history of Prince Tang 唐王, one of the rulers of the Southern Ming dynasty 南明 (1644-1661), and his relations to the family Zheng 鄭 that ruled over Taiwan. The short book was written by an unknown author. It describes the enthronement of Prince Tang in Fujian, his proclamation of the Longwu reign 隆武 in 1644 and ends in 1683. Of great importance is the sea ban politics of the Qing dynasty 清 (1644-1911) that tried to disconnect the Ming loyalists from contact to the population in the seashore regions.
The book is only preserved as a manuscript.
