Shiqishi xiangjie 十七史詳節

Shiqishi xiangjie 十七史詳節 "Excerpts from the seventeen official dynastic histories" is an overview of traditional dynastic history books compiled by the Song-period 宋 (960-1279) master Lü Zuqian 呂祖謙 (1137-1181).

The book is 273 juan long and quotes the most important or most interesting chapters from the official histories which counted at that time seventeen. The book is arranged in such a way that the "digest" of each history can be taken as a separate book, like Donglai Xiansheng Shiji xiangjie 東萊先生史記詳節 in 20 juan, Donglai Xiansheng Xihan xiangjie 東萊先生西漢書詳節 in 30 juan, Donglai Xiansheng Sanguozhi xiangjie 東萊先生三國志詳節 in 20 juan, etc. The text takes into consideration important phonetic and semantic commentaries written over the ages and includes them into his book.

The oldest print was published in 1516, made by Liu Hongyi 劉弘毅 (Shendu Studio 慎獨齋). A modern edition was published in 2008 by the Shanghai Guji Press 上海古籍出版社.
