Pingjinguan congshu 平津館叢書

Pingjinguan congshu 平津館叢書 "Collectanea of the Pingjin Studio" is a series of collectanea (congshu 叢書) compiled by the Qing-period 清 (1644-1911) scholar Sun Xingyan 孫星衍 (1753-1818). It includes 43 books with a total length of 254 juan.

The name of the series is derived from the name of the ancient territory of Pingjin 平津 with which the Han-period 漢 (206 BCE-220 CE) counsellor Gongsun Hong 公孫弘 was enfeoffed. Sun Xingyan was tax circuit intendant (duliangdao 督糧道) in that region and gave his private study the old name of the region.

The series is divided into ten collections that are numbered according to the Ten Celestial Stems. The Pingjinguan congshu includes books of a wide range of themes, from commentaries to the Confucian Classics to historiographic books and military treatises. Writings of the so-called various "masters and philosophers" (zhuzi 諸子) occupy the largest part. Sun Xingyan saw to it that all the books in his collectanea were brought into an excellent textual condition and therefore underwent text-critical research to amend errors. In includes a lot of texts on various matters that have not been preserved otherwise. Zhu Jirong 朱記榮 (1836-1905) revised the Pingjinguan congshu and praised it for the high quality of the text.

The most important prints are the original from the Jiaqing reign-period 嘉慶 (1796-1820), and Zhu Jirong's print from 1885.
