Shuzhang Guo 庶長國 was a military leader in the state of Qin 秦 during the Warring States period 戰國 (5th cent.-221 BCE). In 362, when the state of Wei 魏 was involved in a military engagement with Han 韓 and Zhao 趙 in the region of Lengshui 冷水 (today's Quwo 曲沃, Shanxi), Shuzhang Guo was appointed commander of Qin. He defeated Gongshu Cuo 公叔痤 of Wei in the battle of Shaoliang 少梁 (today's Hancheng 韓城, Shaanxi), captured the general, and occupied the town of Pangcheng 龐城 (Fanpang 繁龐). With this territorial advance of Qin, the royal capital of Wei, Anyi 安邑 (Xiaxian 夏縣, Shanxi), was threatened, and King Hui 魏惠王 (r. 371-335) decided to move his residence to Daliang 大梁 (Kaifeng 開封, Henan).
