Jiangnan bielu 江南別錄 "Alternative history of Southern China" is a short history of the Southern Tang dynasty 南唐 (937-975) written by the Song-period 宋 (960-1279) historian Chen Pengnian 陳彭年 (961-1017), courtesy name Yongnian 永年. Chen took part in the compilation of the political encyclopaedia Cefu yuangui 冊府元龜 and directed the revision of the dictionaries Qieyun 切韻 and Guangyun (as Da-Song chongxiu Guangyun 大宋重修廣韻).
The book Jiangnan bielu describes the history of the four rulers of the Southern Tang empire, one of the Ten States 十國 (902-979) occupying southern China before the foundation of the Song dynasty. Chen formerly compiled a history called Jiangnanlu 江南錄, together with Tang Yue 湯悦 and Xu Xuan 徐鉉 (916-991) but later revised and enlarge this book and published it with the known title.
The Jiangnan bielu is included in the series Xuehai leibian 學海類編, Gujin shuohai 古今說海, Mohai jinhu 墨海金壺 and Lidai xiaoshi 歷代小史. It is part of the collection Siku quanshu 四庫全書.
