Qingshi liezhuan 清史列傳 "Biographies of the Qing Period" is a collection of important persons from the Qing period 清 (1644-1911). It is 80-juan long and was written by a large number of unknown authors of the imperial archives.
In total the collection includes no less than 2,894 biographies, mainly taken from sources compiled in the Office for the Dynastic History (guoshiguan 國史館), like the Dachen liezhuan gaoben 大臣列傳稿本 "Draft to the [official] biographies of eminent ministers", Man-Han mingchen zhuan 滿漢名臣傳 "Biographies of famous Manchu and Chinese ministers", or the Guochao qixian leizheng 國朝耆獻類徵 "[Biographies of the] honoured [ministers] of Our Dynasty, arranged topically".
Large parts of the biographies in the Qingshi liezhuan are identical to that in the Qingshigao 清史稿, the draft to the official history of the Qing dynasty, but in the latter biographies are often shorter than in the latter.
The Qingshi liezhuan was first published in 1928 by the Zhonghua Book Company 中華書局, and in 1987 again, this time with punctuation, in 20 volumes.
