Tongzi wen 童子問

There are two books with the titel Tongzi wen 童子問 "Questions of young boys".

The first was written by the great scholar Ouyang Xiu 歐陽修 (1007-1072). The first two fascicles of the book of 3 juan deal with the practical use of prognostication with the help of hexagrams as described in the Classic Yijing 易經 "Book of Changes". The text is therefore also known as Yi tongzi wen 易童子問 or Tongzi wen yi 童子問易. It is included in Ouyang's collected works, even if its scholarly value is rather modest.

The second book with the title is rather brief and was written by Huang Wenshu 黃文澍. It is a harsh critique of the philosophical thought of Wang Shouren 王守仁 (Wang Yangming 王陽明, 1472-1529) and is written in the style of questions and answers. The original title of the text was Shiqi ji 石畦集.
