Baihaozi binglei 白毫子兵壘 "Soldier's rampart of Master White Fuzz", also written 兵𦌵 or 兵罶, is a military treatise written by the Ming-period 明 (1368-1644) scholar Yin Bingshang 尹賓商 xxx or Yin Shang 尹商, courtesy name Yigeng 亦耕 (also written 夷耕) or Yuhuang 于皇, style Baohaozi "Master of the White Fuzz". He lived during the Wanli reign-period 萬曆 (1573-1619) and died at the very end of the Ming period. Yin Shang hailed from Hanchuan 漢川 in modern Hubei and was a descendant of a eunuch family. His father Yin Yingyuan 尹應元 had been military commander of Ningxia 寧夏 and took also part in the construction of defence fortifications against coastal pirates, the so-called Wo 倭. Yin Shang was therefore very interested in military strategy. He had been magistrate (zhixian 知縣) of Qixian 祁縣 but soon retired and dedicated his life to authorship.

His book Binglei is an excellent resumé of ancient military strategies and draws from many examples of history.
