Juyilu 居易錄 "Records of living at ease" is a "brush-notes"-style book (biji 筆記) written during the early Qing period 清 (1644-1911) by Wang Shizhen 王士禎 (1634-1711). The book catalogue Guangutang cangshu mu 觀古堂藏書目 lists the book in the section of fiction (xiaoshuo lei 小說類).
The book of 34 juan length was written over a long time, between 1689 and 1701. Much of what is recorded in the book is excerpted from ancient texts, including discussions on poetry and prose, commendations of famous individuals, investigations into the origins and development of various subjects, evaluations of successes and failures, and elaborations that showcase the author's own strengths—all of which are presented in great detail. The critiques and commentaries are quite valuable.
From the third fascicle onward, the focus shifts to current events; after the ninth fascicle, it adopts the style of Pang Yuanying's 龐元英 (late 11th cent.) Wenchang zalu 文昌雜錄, following an annalistic format that records daily routines, appointments, transfers, and official assignments. The writings reflect his upright character, which earned him the trust and favor of the imperial court. He also praises his own actions and decisions.
The text is found in the series Siku quanshu 四庫全書 and Wang Yuyang yishu 王漁洋遺書.
