Yuhu qinghua 玉壺清話 "Clear talks of Jade Mug [Studio]", also called Yuhu yeshi 玉壺野史 "Unofficial stories of Jade Mug [Studio]", is a collection of stories compiled during the Song period by a Buddhist monk called Wenying 文瑩. The book catalogue Junzhai dushu zhi 郡齋讀書志 says, Wenying's book Xiangshan yelu 湘山野錄 was written during the Xining reign-period 熙寧. The Yeshi was written later, probably during the Yuanfeng era 元豐. The bibliographical chapter in the Wenxian tongkao 文獻通考 lists the book with the title Yuhu qinghua, with a length of 10 juan. Cao Rong's 曹溶 series Xuehai leibian 學海類編 calls it Yuhu shihua 玉壺詩話.
During the compilation process, Wenying combed writings from the beginning of the Song dynasty to the Xining era, numbering several thousand juan. Among them were works such as soul-path inscriptions, tomb epitaphs, biographical accounts, veritable records, and memorials to the throne. Wenying formed a work of his own standing, one that complements and corresponds with other books of the type „wild (i.e., unofficial) history“ (yelu 野錄, yeshi 野史).
