Jiushi 酒史 "A history of wine" is a history of wine culture in China. It was compiled during the Ming period 明 (1368-1644) by Feng Shihua 馮時化 (b. 1549), courtesy name Yinglong 應龍, style Yuchuan 與川 or Wuhuai Shanren 無懷山人.
The 6-juan-long book mainly quotes from poems and prose texts that talk about alcoholic beverages and their cultural context. It is divided into six chapters, but the overall composition of these parts is quite unsystematic and full of textual errors. Some quotations are too short and of no help to understand the context. At the end of the book, part of Wu Shu's 吳淑 encyclopaedia Shilei fu 事類賦 is quoted, namely the chapter Jiufu 酒賦 "Rhapsody on wine". The author of this text is indicated as Yanshan Jushi 燕山居士, a non-identifiable person.
The collector Bao Shigong 鮑士恭 owned two editions of this book, with identical text, but the author of one version is called Xu Wei 徐渭 (1521-1593). Another version was owned by the library of the Imperial Household Department. The Jiushi is included in the series Baoyantang miji 寶顏堂祕笈 and Congshu jicheng chubian 叢書集成初編.
