Yancaopu 煙草譜 is a book on tobacco by Chen Cong 陳琮 (1731-1789) from Qingpu 青浦 close to Shanghai.
It was first printed in 1815 and is based on earlier writings on tobacco cultivation and processing. The author listed all his sources and added two simple illustrations of a tobacco smoker with a pipe, and the general appearance of the tobacco plant. The first three of the 8 juan explain the history and characteristics of the tobacco plant and the processing of the dried leaves, as well as their marketing and use, including health damages. Fascicle 3 ends with stories about tobacco. The rest of the book quotes from documentary and literary sources.
