Yitong zhengmai quanshu 醫統正脈全書

Yitong zhengmai quanshu 醫統正脈全書, also called Gujin yitong zhengmai quanshu 古今醫統正脈全書 or Yitong zhengmai 醫統正脈 for short, is a series of collectanea (congshu 叢書) of medical texts compiled during the Ming period 明 (1368-1644) by Wang Kentang 王肯堂 (c. 1552-1638), courtesy name Yutai 宇泰 or Sunzhong 損仲, style Sun'an 損庵 or Nianxi Jushi 念西居士, from Jintan 金壇, Jiangsu. The series includes 44 texts with a total length of 213 juan.

Wang Kentang was examining editor (jiantao 檢討) of the Hanlin Academy 翰林院 and later rose to the post of administration vice commissioner (canzheng 參政) of the province of Fujian. He was acquainted with the Jesuit father Matteo Ricci (Li Madou 利瑪竇, 1552-1610). Wang wrote the books Zhengzhi zhunsheng 證治準繩, Yugangzhai bichen 郁岡齋筆麈, Yilun 醫論 and Yibian 醫辨.

The topics of the series cover medical classics (yijing 醫經), books on materia medica (bencao 本草), treatment methods (fangshu 方書) and diagnosis (zhenduan 診斷). Among these books, many are regarded as basic texts, like Wang Bing's 王冰 commentary on the Huangdi neijing suwen 黃帝內經素問 and Lingshujing 靈樞經, Hua Shou's 滑壽 (c. 1304-1386) commentary Nanjing benyi 難經本義, Cheng Wuji's 成無己 (c. 1063-1156) commentary Zhujie Shanghanlun 注解傷寒論, Huangfu Mi's 皇甫謐 (215-282) Huangdi zhenjiu jiayi jing 黃帝針灸甲乙經 or Wang Shuhe's 王叔和 (210-285) Jingui yaolüe 金匱要略 and Maijing 脈經. Most of these books are included in the imperial series Siku quanshu 四庫全書 and were published in separate editions, but in Wang's series, they are assembled in one collection.

A shortcoming of the series is that the arrangement of the texts does not follow a consistent principle.

The series was first printed in 1601 by Wu Mianxue 吳勉學. The most important Qing-period 清 (1644-1911) editions are Zhu Wenzhen's 朱文震 collated edition, as well as the 1894 edition from the Weixin Shuju 維新書局. In 1923, the Zhongyi Xueshe 中醫學社 in Beiping 北平 (Beijing) published a modern print.
