The Moke huixi 墨客揮犀 "An ink fellow dragging a rhino horn" is a biji 筆記 "brush notes" style book attributed to the Song period 宋 (960-1279) scholar Peng Cheng 彭乘, but the book must have been written somewhat later than he lived, yet the compiler is not known. The 10 juan "scrolls" long book quotes extensively from texts like Dongxuan bilu 東軒筆錄, Mengxi bitan 夢溪筆談, Lengzhai yehua 冷齋夜話 or Dunzhai xianlan 遁齋閑覽. The title of the book is derived from a topic in literature according to which scholars engaged in "pure discussions" used to take with them dusters (huichen 揮麈 or huixi 揮犀). The themes range from inofficial history to poems and literary critique. In this respect the Moke huixi is a very important compilation that assembles scattered information about this theme. The Moke huixi is included in the collectanea Siku quanshu 四庫全書, Baihai稗海 and Biji xiaoshuo daguan 筆記小說大觀. The collectanea Wanwei biecang 宛委別藏, Taoyuan congshu 弢園叢書, Hanfenlou miji 涵芬樓秘笈 and Yinlizaisitang congshu 殷禮在斯堂叢書 include a supplement of the same size, the Xu moke huixi 續墨客揮犀. The collectaneum Gujin shuohai 古今說海 presents an extract of 1 juan of size.
