Jingchuan xielu 晴川蟹錄

Jingchuan xielu 晴川蟹錄 is a book on crabs written during the high Qing period 清 (1644-1911) by Sun Zhilu 孫之騄, courtesy name Zijun 子骏 or Jingchuan 晴川, style Nanzhangzi 南漳子, from Renhe 仁和 (today's Yuhang 余杭, Zhejiang). During the Yongzheng reign-period 雍正 (1723–1735), he was an educational instructor (jiaoyu 教諭) in the district of Qingyuan 慶元. He wrote a commentary on the Bamboo Annals (Zhushu jinian 竹書紀年), Kaoding Zhushu jinian 考定竹書紀年, as well as the scholarly studies Bieben Shangshu dazhuan 别本尚書大傳, Songyuan jingshuo 松源經說, Xia xiaozheng jijie 夏小正集解, Pan Shaoshu jizhu 樊紹述集注 and Wang Chuanzi shi jizhu 王川子詩集注. He is also the author of the "brush-notes"-style (biji 筆記) books Ershen yelu 二申野錄, Zhiyu 枝語, and Nanzhangzi 南漳子.

His book on crabs has a length of 4 juan, with a supplement Jingchuan hou xielu 晴川後蟹錄 of 4 juan, and Jingchuan xu xielu 晴川續蟹錄 of one fascicle. It describes types of crabs and their features (Pulu 譜錄), and quotes from scholarly sources (Shilu 事錄) as well as prose literature (Wenlu 文錄) and poetry (Shilu 詩錄) on crabs. The supplements add further facts (Shidian 事典), quote from rhapsodies and songs (Fuyong 賦詠), lists recipes and modes of consumption (Shixian 食憲), and addenda (Shiyi 拾遺). The scholarly quality of the book is much lower than Fu Hong's 傅肱 Xiepu 蟹譜 (fl. 1059) and Gao Sisun's 高似孫 (1158-1231) Xielüe 蟹略.
