Jiangcun suoxia lu 江村銷夏錄 is a book on painting and calligraphy written during the early Qing period 清 (1644-1911) by Gao Shiqi 高士奇 (1645-1703), courtesy name Zhanren 澹人, style Jiangcun 江村, Zhuchuang 竹窗, Pinglu 瓶廬 or Cangyong Laoren 藏用老人. Gao also wrote a catalogue of the artworks he collected, Jiangcun shuhua mu 江村書畫目. He is also known for his geographical book Chunqiu diming kao 春秋地名考 and his history book Zuozhuan jishi benmo 左傳紀事本末. The title of his book on artworks is lend from Sun Chengze's 孫承澤 (1592-1676) Gengzi suoxia ji 庚子銷夏記.
The preface of the 3-juan-long book is dated 1693. It discusses paintings and calligraphies from the Jin 晉 (265-420) to the end of the Ming period 明 (1368-1644), from Wang Xizhi's 王羲之 (303-361) Yuan sheng tie 袁生帖 to Lu Zhi's 陸治 (1496-1576) Liuhua baizhi tu 榴花白雉圖. As to calligraphies, Gao talks about the text, the appearance of the copies, their preservation, dimensions, additional notes and seals of owners, and adds his own ratings of quality, as well as introductory notes (ti-ba 題跋) from his own side. Some among the artworks Gao describes are forgeries, or the titles do not correspond to the artwork described. On the other hand, the book of Gao informs about discrepancies between older descriptions of particular artworks and their then-present appearance, mainly concerning the notes.
The arrangement of the book follows the descriptive catalogues Tiewang shanhu 鐵網珊瑚 and Qinghe shuhua fang 清河書畫舫, with the difference that Gao's own notes are inserted directly after the individual descriptions. It thus constituted a form that was imitated by the imperial catalogues Midian zhulin 秘殿珠林 and Shiqu baoji 石渠寶笈.
The Jiangcun suoxia lu is fully included in Bian Yongyu's 卞永譽 (1645-1712) Shigutang shuhua huikao 式古堂書畫彙考 and in the series Siku quanshu 四庫全書 and Fengyulou congshu 風雨樓叢書.
