Yuefu zalu 樂府雜錄 "Miscellaneous notes on songs from the Music Bureau" is a "brush-record"-style (biji 筆記) collection of small essays written during the Tang period 唐 (618-907) by Duan Anjie 段安節, son of the writer Duan Chengshi 段成式 (c. 803-863) and brother-in-law of Wen Tingyun 溫庭筠 (801?-866).
The short collection was finished around 890. It includes notes to music, dances and plays. It is an important private compilation providing information on court music, dances, composers and actors, musical instruments and their use, as well as puppet theatre (kuileizi 傀儡子). The book ended with tables on musical modes and modal change that are unfortunately lost.
The Yuefu zalu can be regarded as a kind of supplement to the Jiaofangji 教坊記, an earlier text on the theme of music. It is a valuable source in this field and was later often quoted by official books as the Jiutangshu 唐書, Xintangshu 新唐書, Wenxian tongkao 文獻通考 or Yuefu shiji 樂府詩集.
It is included in the series Shoushange congshu 守山閣叢書, Shuofu 說郛, Xu baichuan xuehai 續百川學海, Gujin shuohai 古今說海 and Siku quanshu 四庫全書.
